What Does Judges 4:4 Mean? ►

Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, was judging Israel at that time.
Judges 4:4(NASB)
After the death of Joshua, the people of Israel did not continue to follow the instructions of the Lord, in their continued conquest of the promised land. Instead, they started to do what was right in their own eyes.. and as a result, they entered upon a period in their history where they were ruled by a series of thirteen judges.
This period of history showed a recurring trend. The people would do evil in the sight of the Lord, Who would use their enemies to chastise them for their ungodly ways. Israel would cry out to the Lord for help, and in His grace, God would raise up a saviour to rescue them.
God would appoint a judge to bring the nation to repentance and restoration, and until the death of that judge, the people would live in peace and safety. However, after the removal of God's appointed judge, the same cycle of disobedience, conquest, repentance and the appointment of a new judge would ensue.
Following in the footsteps of the first judges, Othniel, Ehud and Shamgar, we discover Deborah being appointed by God, to be the next judge over Israel. God would use Deborah to free Israel from the hands of Jabin.. the Canaanite king, whose stronghold was in Hazor.
The only woman judge that God ever raised up during this period, was Deborah, the wife of Lappidoth. She was a prophetess, who was used by the Lord to save His people from the vicious attacks of Sisera - who was Jabin's fearsome commander-in-chief, and who commanded a mighty army of 900 chariots. For 20 long years this great army terrorised the people of Israel.
Deborah commissioned Barak to lead the armies of Israel into battle against this formidable foe.. but Barak, her commanding officer, had cold feet, and was reluctant to go, unless Deborah herself, accompanied him! Despite his hesitation, Barak was permitted to win the battle, while the final victory was given into the hands of a woman - called Jael. She was the one who slaughtered Sisera, as he fled in defeat from the battle-field.. and sought refuge in her tent.
The story of each of these judges of Israel are all filled with excitement and intrigue.. but the clear warning that tolls like a warning bell throughout this entire period of Israel's history, is seen in the 4-fold cycle of rebellion followed by retribution, followed by repentance and finally resulting in their restoration - until the next cycle of lawlessness began.
When the nation revered and honoured the Lord, the land was peaceful and the crops were plentiful, but when rebellion against the Lord and unbelief filled their hearts, they had to suffer the consequences of their disobedience.
Deborah has been acclaimed as a great heroine in the history of Israel, who was blessed for her bravery and resourcefulness. Indeed, she has been lifted-up as a great advocate for the cause of women-kind.
Deborah was a woman whose life is an example to men and women alike.. for she was someone who was willing and ready to be used by God, and to carry out His plans and purposes in willing obedience - no matter what the difficulties and dangers.
However, the story of Deborah is not about women or gender - but about God and His faithfulness to His people, Israel. It is about the terrible outcome of sin, the shocking consequences of rebellion.. and the great grace our God and Father demonstrates to all who will call upon His name. It is about the need to recognise sin and repent of our faults, and it is about being ready and willing to be used by God, no matter what the consequences.
The story of Deborah, the judge of Israel is about looking to God and Jesus Christ, Whom He has sent, to be the propitiation for our sins. May we fulfil God's call on our life with the same resourcefulness and faithfulness as this great woman of God.

My Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the great example of Deborah, who was ready and willing to be used by You in the most difficult of circumstances. Thank You that You are a faithful God Who is long-suffering towards Your people and ready to forgive the sins of those that call out to You, in humble repentance.. in times of trouble. Use me, I pray in Your service, no matter what the cost may be, and keep me low at the cross and broken before You - this I ask in Jesus name. AMEN.

What Does Romans 14:17 Mean?

for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Romans 14:17(NASB)
True worship can only flow from a heart of faith and does not consist of the actions we undertake; the outward behaviors we exhibit or strict adherence to certain prescribed laws or imposed practices.
True worship emanates from a soul that is right with God. True worship is an attitude that is conceived in the inner heart, which reflects Christ's beauty and grace. It is manifested in the fruit of the Spirit being produced, and the character of Christ being reflected in a life. Righteousness, peace and the joy of the Lord is an inner loveliness shining through the one who is loving the Lord Jesus, and seeking His kingdom first.

Our great salvation does not depend on what we eat, drink or do. Our salvation depends on faith in what Christ has done for us.
Righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit comes through faith in HIM. We are not under Law but under grace, so let us make sure that the motives that govern our thoughts and the actions that are carried out in lives that honour HIM. May we do everything as unto the Lord, so that we give glory to our Father is in heaven.

A SOLUTION FOR CHEATING MEN

A Man Cheating On His Wife Asked Me This Question After I Challenged Him Why He Cheated. He said many so called Sheikhs Bishops, Reverend Fathers and Reverends do so.
FARIDAH, CAN YOU EAT ONLY BEANS FOR TEN YEARS?
At first, I didn't know how to answer him because it sounded as if he was making sense but then I got an inspiration to answer him. Immediately, I replied: yes, I can. He laughed and looked at me with a question written on his face, how?
In reality, I love beans so much and that makes me not get tired of eating it daily. But...to continue to enjoy my beans, I transform them into many things, so I don't eat beans everyday and every time.
I can make bean cake(ask people from West Nile) for breakfast and Mugoyo for lunch from the same beans. I can garnish my beans with varieties and spice it up with different spices.
I also asked him if he ever had a scenario where a doctor advised his patient to avoid some set of food and stick to a particular or some particular ones? That is because those other foods can damage his health or send him to his early grave.
Then he protested again: but Faridah, for a healthy living, one needs to eat a balanced diet. I became dumbfounded for a minute before another inspiration came. I realised that the Israelites ate only manna for forty years and no single one among them was sick for those forty years. Their sickness started when they requested for variety, "we need meat they said". God gave them enough meat. They ate until it started coming out of their noses.
He wanted to ask me further questions but he paused and asked me to explain my previous answers. Then I explained thus;
Your spouse is the beans and if you truly love her, you can never be tired of her. To transform my beans into Mugoyo and momoi means every man should spend on their wives to change their look as often as possible. Change her hairstyle, change her wardrobe often, buy her what makes you attracted to other women outside. And you ladies try to be creative.
Also, garnishing it with varieties and spicing it up with different spices requires that you do some romantic things like using different styles at the bedroom level, doing it elsewhere different from your home, making the place smell nice etc. couples must be creative in their bedroom. Nudity and immodest dressing is not ideal outside but not in the bedroom. Ladies please Deliberately expose your cleavages and thigh for your husband, make your towel drop deliberately, bend down infront of him to pick it etc. Tempt him, seduce him and be his prostitute.
Your wife is a manna from heaven and she is a complete balanced diet. In her, there is protein, carbohydrate, fat, vitamin and minerals. That is why every woman has same contents. Though the container may differ in size and height. And like you know that the content of milk is what makes it milk and not the container, you use the milk and throw away the tin.
Don't take a bite from the forbidden fruit, it may look attractive but it is poisonous. Strange women may look attractive but they are poisonous and deadly, don't take a bite.

"BIBLE KEYS TO FINANCIAL BLESSINGS "

Theme today is based on, "BIBLE KEYS TO FINANCIAL BLESSINGS "
The subject of financial blessings is one subject that every Christian will want to hear about, since everyone desires to be rich in earthly possession. But how can we really come out of financial strains, debts and other related challenges? Is it possible to be debt free and live in abundance?
The amazing thing in the bible is the promises of overflow, God promises not only enough but more than enough. The specification is more than you can handle. It leaves us with one question, why then have we not been able to enjoy this kind of blessing in our lives? Could it be that we are not following the instructions of the lord to the book? Consider these promises
Deuteronomy 28:1-3 And it shall come to pass, if you shall hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD your God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command you this day, that the LORD your God will set you on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on you, and overtake you, if you shall hearken unto the voice of the LORD your God. Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field.
Moses instructed the children of Israel that if they will be careful to obey the voice of the Lord in full or completely, all these blessings will come to them and overtake them. The blessing here covers both the city and the land? Think about this, how often have we considered ourselves blessed just because we are blessed in the city or in the land. There are people who are so blessed in one of these places, but the blessing of God covers both the land and the city, not only to satisfaction but to overflow “more than enough”.
As we look deeper in to this subject, your eyes will be opened to see the full perimeter of God’s blessings. When you are blessed by the lord even the fertility of your soil will be affected, when others are crying of drought you will be harvesting much, when others are complaining of a global economic crisis you will still be having more than enough. This is the kind of blessing that the bible is talking about.
When the Lord opened my eyes this morning to this revelation, I was so eager to know how I can inherit these blessings, but then I was astonished at the principles the bible is offering. And the truth is that many of us do not fulfill these principles that is why we are not blessed as the bible says.
I want you to know that you can be blessed as the bible says if only you follow the instructions of the lord. All these instructions are in the word of God, and all you need to do is find it and obey it.
The big word is “giving” the only way to receive through the whole bible is by giving. You may ask of me how can I give and yet I do not even have enough myself? Everyone has something to give, before he is completely out, and the decision is yours “will you sow the seed or eat the seed” if you eat the seed you kill your chances of ever getting a harvest, but if you sow though it may be painful, you are expectant of a harvest. Giving is the only way to come out of financial strains, if you want your life to change then you must stop complaining about what you do not have and start thinking about how you can use what you have to get what you do not have. The keys are in your hands. What you have will call out for what you do not have.
There are three principles through the word of God which if we fulfill we will be able to walk in plenty both in the land and in the city these are; tithe, offerings and seed. Let us look at them one at a time.
TITHING :
The tithe is 10% of your income, and it should be given to God faithfully. Tithing honors the Scriptural principles of generously providing for religious leaders, giving to those in need, and laying up treasures in heaven.
Throughout Scripture, we are encouraged to give the first part of our resources to God as an expression of honor and gratitude. “Honor the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: so shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine” (Proverbs 3:9–10).
Tithing is one way to worship God—to honor Him as your provider and remind yourself that all of your resources belong to Him and are provided through His grace. As you give away that first 10% of your income, you set your course to honor God in the way you handle the rest of your finances.
The practice of tithing provides a regular reminder of your dependence on God. In good times, tithing helps you remember that God is the source of all blessings, and it allows you to demonstrate your gratitude for His care. In hard times, tithing motivates you to remember God’s faithfulness, and it enables you to demonstrate trust in God to provide for all of your needs.
As Christians, we are challenged to set our hearts on what truly matters, not on the frivolous things of the earth. (See Colossians 3:1–2.) Jesus challenged His disciples, “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not beak through nor steal: for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also” (Matthew 6:19–21).
Giving a tithe and giving beyond the tithe are ways that you can honor God and reach out to meet the needs of others. “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it” (Malachi 3:10).
OFFERINGS :
The secret benefit of giving.
A lot of people don’t like giving, including a lot of Christians. If that sounds like you, you might feel a bit uncomfortable, but please read on because I want to share an important secret with you.
If you’ve ever read the Bible with an open and honest heart, then you know it teaches us to give frequently and generously.
Jesus is very interested in what we do with our money. In fact, He spoke about money more frequently than any other subject except the Kingdom of God. He said:
“Woe to you that are rich” (Luke 6:24)
“You cannot serve God and mammon” (Luke 16:13)
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth… but store up for yourselves treasure in heaven…for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matt 6:19-21)
“It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” (Matt 19:24)
Most of us don’t struggle to understand Jesus’ teaching, but we struggle to obey it because we are afraid. When we let go of money, we fear we’re letting go of our security.
Perhaps you’re troubled by the story of the young man who asks Jesus, “What must I do to get eternal life?” (Matthew 19:16). When Jesus answers, “Go sell what you possess and give to the poor and you will have treasure; and come, follow me” (Matthew 19:21), the man goes away heavy-hearted because he can’t bear to give up his wealth. Did he ever truly enjoy his privileged lifestyle again or did he always wonder, “What if…?”
The good news is money can be used to enhance our relationship with God and to bless humankind. Here’s the secret benefit of giving: it’s good for us. It teaches us to find our security in our Father God and to rely on Him for all our needs. Furthermore, a giving spirit makes life with God an adventure – how will He use you today?
Giving money is a great way of showing our love to God and seeing how He uses us to bless others. As we give, our attitude is transformed. Rather than asking, “How much of my money should I give to God?” we ask “How much of God’s money should I keep for myself?”
So give with a glad and generous heart because the very act of letting go of money does something within us. It destroys the demon greed and allows generosity to grow.
SEED :
God Is Waiting for You to Plant a Seed.
“Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.” (John 12:24b NIV)
What does a farmer do when he’s got a barren field that’s producing no income? He doesn’t complain about it. He doesn’t even pray about it! He just goes out and starts planting some seed, because nothing is going to happen until he plants the seed. He can pray all he wants, but it’s not going to produce fruit. He’s got to plant some seed.
Some of you think you’re waiting on God. You think you’re waiting on God for that job. You think you’re waiting on God for a husband. You think you’re waiting on God for the windfall. God says, “You think you’re waiting on me? I’m waiting on you! I’m waiting for you to plant a seed.”
Everything in life starts as a seed — a relationship, a marriage, a business, a church. And nothing happens until the seed is planted.
Why does God require us to plant a seed? Because planting is an act of faith. You take what you’ve got, and you give it away. That takes an act of faith! And it brings glory to God.
Jesus described this principle of sowing and reaping when he was trying to explain why he came to Earth to die on the cross. In John 12:24 Jesus said, “Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds” (NIV). Jesus was saying, “Millions of people will be saved and go to Heaven because of my death and Resurrection. I’m going to plant a seed, and the seed is going to be my life.”
Here’s the principle of sowing and reaping: Whenever you have a need, you plant a seed. Whatever it is you need — more time, more energy, more money, more support, more relationships, more wisdom — just plant a seed. If you need more time, give more time to your kids. If you need more money, give it away to someone who needs it. If you need more wisdom, share what wisdom you have with others. Give yourself away!
It may not make sense to you to give away something that you need more of, but that is exactly the kind of attitude that God wants to bless and that will produce fruit in your life. When you have a need, don’t gripe about it, don’t wish about it, and you don’t even have to pray about it — just plant a seed!
Talk It Over
For what need have you been waiting on God to provide?
What do you think God might be waiting on you to do about that need? What seed can you plant today?
What kind of effects do you see in yourself and others when you plant a seed and give of yourself? What kind of character do you think God wants to build in you?
Be blessed!!

ITS ONLY GOD TO WORSHIP

WHOM SHALL WE WORSHIP.

Whom shall we worship?  What you are about to read are some of the most profound words in Holy writ, God’s inspired Word.  (2 Timothy 3:16-17).  “Now I, John, saw and heard these things.  And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed me these things.  Then he said to me, See that you do not do that.  For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book.  Worship God.” (Revelation 22:8-9).  The angel refused to let the great apostle worship him.  What a great lesson and example that is for all men and women today, who enjoy preeminence.  The apostle Paul wrote, “But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:8).  Then he repeated this in verse 9.  Man-made teaching will cause you to lose your soul if you obey it.  Worship God like the angel said.  The apostle Peter refused to be worshipped by Cornelius.  Peter said, “Stand up; I myself am also a man.” (Acts 10:25-26) and angel and an apostle both refused to be worshiped.  Dear Reader, do you worship some man and not God?  If so, your worship is vain.  (Matthew 15:9).  When our Lord was tempted by the devil, saying, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.  Then Jesus said to him, Away with you, Satan!  For it is written, You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.” (Matthew 4:9-10).  This is the final, absolute conclusion!  Worship and obey God and be saved.

The inspired scriptures prove that God must be the only one worshiped.  (Revelation 22:8Galatians 1:8Acts 10:25-26Matthew 4:910).  How shall we worship God?  This is an eternally good question.  The answer comes from God’s word:  “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.  God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:23-24).  Notice first “the true worshipers” are the only ones that God wants to worship Him.  “… for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.” (John 4:23).  Next, they “must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”; “in truth”, according to His truth, the word of God; by God’s authority, not man’s opinions.  Notice the word “must”.  “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32).  “Sanctify them by Your truth.  Your word is truth.” (John 17:17).  “He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him – the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.” (John 12:48).  All will be judgedby God’s word, which is the truth.  Conclusion: we must study God’s word to learn the truth, so one will know the truth and one can worship in truth.  God does not accept “vain worship” (Matthew 15:9), that worship which is according to man’s opinion and commandments.  Obey God and be saved.  (Mark 16:15Matthew 7:21).

...must worship in spirit and in truth.”  (John 4:23-24).  Worship to God must be according to God’s inspired word to be pleasing and to be accepted by God.  If according to man’s opinions and man’s ways, it is vain worship.  (Matthew 15:9).  Your time and efforts were wasted; of no avail and worthless.  Your worship was misdirected – it was not “in spirit and in truth”.  To worship “in spirit” one MUST not only be sincere in what one does, but must be “in spirit and in truth”, as emphasized above.  “In spirit”, sincere, godly attitude, homage to God, devotion of heart, expressing our devotion and worship to God in a reverential, loving way, so as to honor and glorify God with respect which is due the Creator of man and the world.  (Genesis 1 and 2).  We cannot tell God what to do in worship.  “For who has known the mind of the Lord?  Or who has become His counselor?” (Romans 11:34).  Cain tried it, but God rejected his worship.  (Genesis 4:1-10).  Nadab and Abihu tried it, but God had them consumed by fire.  (Leviticus 10:1-2).  God will reject vain worship, man’s unscriptural ways, and man’s unauthorized teachings and ways today.  (Matthew 15:9).  Dear Reader, don’t be deceived, obey God and be saved.  (Matthew 7:21Mark 16:152 Thessalonians 1:8).

True worship to God must be “in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24) as we have learned.  May we discuss and examine some current teachings and practices engaged in today and see if they are authorized by God’s inspired word: dancing, clapping of hands, swaying and movements of the body (which on occasions can be in an immoral fashion), making unseemly noises with the mouth (instead of singing as taught in God’s word, Ephesians 5:19Colossians 3:16), playing mechanical instruments of music in worship, shouting, “merry making”, laughing, immodest dress, and just acting like having a good time.  Is this worship “in spirit and in truth”, as God’s word teaches?  (John 4:23-24).  NO!  There is no authority for such man-made practices in God’s word!  One may be sincere, however worship to God “must be in spirit and in truth” in order to be accepted by God, as previously discussed.  Sincerity is a “must”, but all items authorized and commanded by God must be engaged in to be “in spirit and in truth”: Lord’s supper (every first day of the week, Sunday.  Hebrews 10:25Acts 20:7Matthew 26:261 Corinthians 11:23-28); singing in worship (Ephesians 5:19Colossians 3:16); praying (Acts 2:42Acts 8:22James 5:16); teaching, or preaching (2 timothy 4:1-2Mark 16:15Matthew 28:19-20); giving (1 Corinthians 16:1-22 Corinthians 9:7).  Dear Reader, God never did accept substitutes in worship, which is “vain worship” (Matthew 15:9) or “will worship” (Colossians 2:23).  God will reject such worship.  Who is saved?  Only those who obey God’s will.  (Matthew 7:21Mark 16:15-162 Thessalonians 1:7-9).

The inspired apostle Paul was concerned about Israel being saved, just as we are concerned today – “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved.  For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.” (Romans 10:1-2).  “My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4:6).  Zeal is necessary for one to have, to be pleasing to God; however, it must be according to God’s word.  “…that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.” (Titus 2:14).  Zeal must be coupled with knowledge, God’s word.  Why so?  Note what the apostle wrote: “For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.” (Romans 10:3).  Paul said they were ignorant of God’s word.  One CANNOT worship God “in spirit and in truth” unless he or she knows or has a knowledge of what God will accept and be pleasing to Him.  There are so many today who are attempting to worship God by doing that THEY want to do, but they do nothave any authority from God’s word for what they do in worship.  That is “zeal without knowledge” and that kind of worship will be rejected by God!  Dear Reader, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God” (2 Timothy 2:15) and be saved!

We have seen from the Holy, inspired word of God that one must worship God “in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24) to be pleasing to God.  That is: must be sincere, right attitude and heart, with love and devotion to God; according to God’s Word, the truth, by God’s authority as authorized and commanded by God in His inspired word.  “And whatever you do in word or deed do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” (Colossians 3:17).  “You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.” (Deuteronomy 4:2).  Therefore, one must study God’s Word, search the scriptures to see how God wants us to worship Him, and to see what God will accept.  Otherwise, one’s worship will be in vain (Matthew 15:9).  During the holiday season of Christmas, people all around the world will be engaging in many activities and forms of worship what are wholly designed by man completely – doing the things that man likes and enjoys.  All sorts of “merry making”, dancing, many instruments of music, drinking alcoholic beverages, etc., in celebration and worship - none of which are authorized by God. All is vain worship (Matthew 15:9;Deuteronomy 4:2John 4:23-24.  The infallible, inspired Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17) does not teach that December 25th is Christ’s birth.  Christmas, Easter, and many others were originated by man, not God.  Obey God and be saved. (Mark 16:15Matthew 7:21).

God is the Object of Worship
The angel told John to “Worship God.” (Revelation 22:9).  Satan, the devil, tried to tempt Jesus to worship him.  “And he said to Him, All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.  Then Jesus said to him, Away with you, Satan!  For it is written, You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only you shall serve.” (Matthew 4:9-10).  The Bible is replete with teachings about worship to God only.  The apostle Paul wrote about some, “For they, being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.” (Romans 10:3).  Is this not what many are doing today when they play their instruments of music in worship, dance in worship, gamble by bingo, car wash to raise money in the name of the church, clapping hands in worship, etc.?  Satan enjoys this false worship, but God rejects such vain worship.  (Matthew 15:9).  The devil tempts people today, just as he tempted Jesus.  The apostle Paul declared that there were those in Athens who “worshiped ignorantly”.  (Acts 17:23).  They were worshipping an unknown God.  The devil is pleased, but God is displeased!  Remember what Hosea, the inspired writer said – “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.  Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of you God, I also will forget your children.” (Hosea 4:6)  Dear Reader, obey God and be saved.  (Matthew 7:21Mark 16:16Acts 2:38).
